Fix iPhone not charging
You should inspect your USB adapter and charging cable for damage such as bent prongs or breakage. Use damaged accessories only.
Clean the charging port from your device's bottom. Then, plug your charging cable in to your device. Your device may need service if the charging port is damaged.
Allow your device to charge for half an hour.
Force restart your device if your device is not responding.
iPhone SE (2nd Generation) and iPhone 8 (or later): Quickly release the volume-up button. Release the volume down button quickly. Hold the side button down until you see the Apple logo.
iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPod touch (7th Generation): Hold the volume down and side buttons until you see the Apple logo.
iPhone
6s and earlier, iPhone SE (1st Generation), and iPod touch (6th
Generation): Hold the top (or side) button and the Home button together
until you see the Apple logo.
Allow your device to charge for an additional half hour.
For
an evaluation of your device if it still doesn't turn on or charge,
bring your charging cable and adapter to the Apple Store or Apple
Authorized Service Provider. Apple Support can be reached as well.
It is possible for your iPhone to get slightly warmer as it charges. Software might limit charging to 80 percent if your battery is too hot. This will prolong the battery's life. When the temperature drops, your iPhone will recharge again. Move your iPhone and charger somewhere cooler.
iOS
13 and higher use Optimized battery Charging to reduce the rate at
which your iPhone's battery ages. This allows you to charge your iPhone
faster, while reducing the amount of time it takes to fully charge. The
iPhone uses machine learning on-device to learn about your charging
habits so it can wait until you use it to charge past 80 percent. *
Optimized battery charging is activated only when the iPhone
anticipates that it will need to be connected to a charge for a
prolonged period of time.
